STAINED GLASS CLASS with Jim

COST: $250 for four sessions – 2.5 hours each
DATES: WEDNESDAYS Sep 7, 14, 21, and 28
TIMES: 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Edom Art Emporium

Learn how to work with stained glass and make a colorful project. The class will teach you the basic skills to make a variety of items such as sun-catchers, ornaments, small windows, etc. It’s a fun and challenging art form that can last a lifetime. Let’s get started! Maximum enrollment: 5 Students. First five paid enrollees will be sent an e-mail confirmation as well as additional class information, reference materials, and suggestions prior to attending the first class. A waiting list will be established for future classes or cancellations. The first class will cover stained glass basics, tools, and glass cutting. Patterns for a project like the one pictured will be available. All supplies as well as a limited selection of glass will be provided. Additional glass and bevels can also be purchased in limited quantities from Edom Art Emporium. The remaining classes will be devoted to making a completed glass project with individual and group instruction and assistance. TOOLS/SUPPLIES Basic beginners tools and supplies will be provided. These will include: glass cutting tools, grozing pliers, running pliers, solder, flux, soldering irons, copper foil, and lead came. NOTE: Supplies will be provided but it is highly recommended that you purchase a few basic tools prior to the class which can be used for all your projects in the future. A list/description will be sent to you as noted above. RULES Safety: No food or drinks. Closed toed shoes. Masks for grinding protection and eye goggles will be provided. Please arrive on time. Have fun!

Paint a Buffalo in Pastels
with Nancy Beauchamp

Learn the basics of painting with dry pastels by painting an American icon, the Bison, a.k.a. Buffalo.
NO TALENT NECESSARY. You can draw your own buffalo, or Nancy will sketch the outline for you in advance. She will show you how to do a thumbnail, an underpainting, color study, and the actual painting.
All materials provided.
About the instructor: Nancy Beauchamp is an award winning pastel artist with a degree in Art from Principia College. She teaches weekly classes in Winnsboro, Texas and her work is represented by Edom Art Emporium in Edom, Texas.

Saturday October 1 ,2022 – home for your plant with troy benthall –              9:00am to 12:00pm

Skill Level: Beginner

Students will become familiar with Assiette Trencadis tradition also known as Pique while making a flower pot.  A type of mosaic made from shards of chinaware set in cement. Trancandis is a Catalan term that means “chopped” and is the name for the method made popular in  20th century Catalan Modernism by artists Anton Gaudi and Josep Maria Jujol. There is no age limit, however, children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. All supplies are provided unless you have a special plate, bowl, or cup you would like to use. First 10 paid enrollees will be sent an e-mail confirmation as well as additional class information, reference materials, and suggestions prior to attending the first class. Minimum 4/Maximum 10
